Pray for our family as we have been hit with the flu bug. Adam was really bad this weekend, but he's back on his feet. Heather has been achy but back at work. I've been okay just tired and achy, but not bad. Luckily Jake hasn't been phased by it. We all started taking Tamaflu after Adam got it and we think it probably helped.
I wanted to thank all the guys that came to the house this weekend. For everyone that couldn't make it you missed a great time, but don't worry we plan on doing these every couple of months. We had a couple of my neighbors and friends that some guys brought with them. Hopefully we can get some more guys that aren't involved with a church to the next one. The men in our church need more opportunities to socialize, and meet some new people. Hopefully we can take from this and get together more often.
I wanted to THANK everyone for the donations for Rays this weekend it was truly a help for their family. Please remember that this will be a continuous situation for at least 6-7 weeks. They will need meals and money(gift cards) for awhile. Either make a donation during the offering or I can get it to Keith and Rebbeca. Continue praying for strength and faith for their family.

Meeting Rich Franklin-UFC 3X Middleweight Champ(former)
Here are a couple of pics of me and Heather(mainly Heather) with Rich Franklin from the UFC. He's a top ranked Mixed Martial Arts fighter. We got to go to specail meet and greet with a few other people. Seemed like a great guy. Although, he kept calling Heather out of the crowd, and got several more pictures with her. All I got was a polaroid. Even when another lady was getting her picture taken he called out to Heather (by name) and started talking to her again. HMMMM....I told her she should have asked for tickets since he was so "friendly" with her!

Meals For The Ray's
The Ray's are doing fine this morning (including Johnathon). Our Community Group has just grown by one more and he is a fighter. Heather is taking care of the meals for the Rays so if you would like to prepare a meal call the house (640-7594). If we're not at home leave a message and we'll get back to you. Since they (the Ray's) will be spending alot of time at the hospital. We'd also like to ask for a monetary donation or gift cards for restaurants in the area near the hospital. If you haven't seen it yet Keith set up a blog for updates on Johnathon.
Continue to pray for strength and faith for the family. the fight has just begun.

The Start of Baseball
This is an older pic of the boys, but I like it.
It's that time of year. Little League will start soon, and we'll be spending more time at the park than usual. Adam will be playing T ball. He played capball last year, but that's a little different.
I was a little worried at first about spending equal time with Jake & Adam, since it's just been Jake all this time. I was planning on Head coaching Jake and assisting Adam's team (Rance will be Head). That is until I got, oh how shall we say it...blackballed. I didn't get a 7/8 year old team. I have been coaching at Moody for 5 years. I've coached Fall Ball, helped at camps, and been there at the work days. All to no avail. I had a few board members no vote me due to the fact I coached in Leeds last year.Of course they said that wasn't the reason, but one told me that's the excuse used. That my friends is little league baseball.
On the brightside I can work more one on one with Jake and give Adam equal time. If I step back and look at the big picture. God has answered a prayer. He has given me what I asked for. Just in a way I didn't expect or really want. Isn't that normal though? Like a child asking for a snack and getting banana instead of a pack of gummis. It's what you ask for but not what you asked for. It will be interesting to see what is in store for us and why God has chagned "our" plans so to speak.

St Peter & THe Pearly Gates
A man appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates."Have you ever done anything of particular merit?" St.Peter asked."Well, I can think of one thing," the man offered."On a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota, I came upon a gang of bikers who were threatening a young woman.I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen. So, I approached the largest and most heavily tattooed biker and smacked him in the face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground. I yelled, "Now, back off, or I'll kick the SH*T out of all of you!"St. Peter was impressed .. "When did this happen?"" Couple of minutes ago."

My Valentine-Why I Love My WIfe!
Wish I could have gotten this started sooner, but it still counts!
- Although I'm not morning person, She wakes up every morning even more beautiful and energetic as she was when she was the day before.
- She always seems to "not" get frustrated byt the constant questions from the boys.
- She always looks amazing, even in pajamas..except for those flannels ones..just kidding
- She works 40 hours a week and still keeps the house clean, cooks dinner, washes clothes, helps Jake with his homework, and finds time for me.
- She never complains about it or procrastinate about the daily duties around the house, even though she's working and not at home.
- Here's to a working Mom that can get all the "daily" stuff done and work. I'm not into time management so she has to be.
- She always knows what's going on with the boys and their schools, and who the kids are they play with.....HOW?
- She has a way of pointing out my (very few) mistakes without be patronizing.
- She exercises all the time to "get into" shape, when I thought she already was!
- Manages to constantly look for opportunities to point out to talk to the boys about Christ in situations I never would have thought of.
- She's an organizer. Everything is planned to the last detail. All I have to know is what to where.
- She still looks like that 19 year old girl that I fell in love with.
- She tries to reach out to most people at church even though I (like most) fall into a group and stay there.
- She puts up with me and my warped sense of humor.

Spoiled Under 30 Crowd!!
SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!! If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning .. uphill BOTH ways, yadda, yadda, yadda. And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a dang Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!
I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet . If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!! There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter ..with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!
There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to > hitchhike to the record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and mess it all up!
We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like "Space Invaders" and "asteroids". Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating!
All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed!
Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no on screen menu and no remote control! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your butt and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little jerks!
And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove or go build a frigging fire ... imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing and shake it over the stove> forever like an idiot. That's exactly what I'm talking about! Yo u kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!

Things I Want To Accomplish
I've been doing some thinking lately and there are a couple of things I regret not finishing. I'd like to do. Some I will some I won't some are a dream.
- Finish me degree. I was going to school at night to finish before I started traveling for work and put it on the back burner. Now I just can't afford it. I'm a Sr though and still enrolled at UAB, so I will finish. I may be 40 but I'll get it done.
- Get my Black Belt. I was so close (several yrs ago). I was testing for it the next time, and then got 2 ribs cracked in a fight and stopped for awhile. Then got married and it slowly faded away.
- Kill a trophy buck. I love to hunt, but that trophy has eledued me for years. One day he's gonna step out in front of me and I won't hesitate.
- Go to all the SEC stadiums and watch AU play. I think that would be so cool to hit all those different stadiums.
- Go to Wichita and watch the College World Series. That would be cool.
- Travel to Eurpoe. I've been to Germany, Austria, Lichtenstein, Swtzerland, and stopped in the Nederlands on aour way home. I'd love to go back with Heather.
- Own a Porsche. My favorite car of all time. Kids don't need college. Daddy needs a Porsche, just an old one and I'd be happy.
- Travel the US. I'd love to see the Grand Canyon and the New England coast. I'd really go to go to DC and see the Lincoln Memorial.
- Understand Romans (Heck any of the Books of the Bible), but especially Romans.
There's more but that's all for now..
