Heather Van Gogh?

Heather has been going to (Sip N Strokes) a studio with some friends and painting lately. At first I was like, eh..okay. You're going to drink and do paint by numbers. But I stand corrected. She did a pretty goood job on these. I like having some real paintings in the house. We are in dire need of decorating. So the more the merrier. Not exactly great picture taking by me, but you get the idea.

Just Fishin

I've never been much of a fisherman. Don't care for it all that much, but the boys are all in to it. Adam shocks me because he'll sit there for an hour without moving waiting to catch a fish. Jake on the other hand likes the idea of it, but after 20 minutes or so he's ready to do something else.

The sad thing is Jake's already caught 2 fish in the 2 times we've gone and Adam hasn't caught anything. Jake caught a bass on his very first cast within 15 seconds. Adam nothing. The second time around Jake catches a bream (brim?) on his 2nd cast. Adam nothing. Adam is not very happy about it either. he didn't stop fishing but put his head down and was griping about it.

McCain Camp Rescues Flags From Obama's Rally

Got this off of FOX NEWS. Goes to show how the Dems are when the cameraa aren't rolling.

Democrats are not caring for their Stars and Stripes. At least that’s the message out of John McCain’s campaign.

McCain supporters, claiming they rescued 12,000 miniature American flags from the site of Barack Obama’s nomination acceptance speech last Thursday, redistributed the orphan flags to audience members ahead of a McCain rally in Colorado Springs on Saturday.

The move was an overt swipe at Obama from a campaign whose motto has been “country first.” But Democratic convention organizers claimed the flags were not going to be discarded — but instead were snatched from the site of Obama’s historic address to carry out a “cheap political stunt.”

McCain supporters said the flags were discovered by a vendor at Denver’s Invesco Field after the conclusion of the Democratic National Convention. The vendor supposedly found trash bags full of flags in and near garbage bins, and turned them over to the McCain campaign.

Boy Scouts were sorting through 84 bags of flags in Colorado on Saturday, before a McCain supporter had veterans distribute them to the audience.

“We want to find good homes for these flags,” radio host Dan Caplis said at the rally, adding that whatever flags remained would be placed at memorials throughout Colorado.

Audience members, who booed when Caplis announced that the flags were left in Denver, waved the flags and chanted “U.S.A” before McCain arrived at the rally with his running mate, Sarah Palin.

Damon Jones, spokesman for the Democratic National Convention Committee, released a statement saying McCain should applaud the fact that thousands of American flags were “proudly waved” at their convention.

“But instead his supporters wrongfully took leftover bundles of our flags from the stadium to play out a cheap political stunt calling into question our patriotism,” he said.

Obama has faced attacks on his patriotism since the beginning of the Democratic primary race and has set up a Web site specifically designed to fight such charges.

The McCain campaign has denied questioning Obama’s patriotism, and even released a statement Friday calling Obama’s most recent comments on the matter “hysterical.”

Obama said Friday that Republicans are trying to make the election a personality contest, and that “what they’re really saying is ‘we’re going to try to scare people about Barack. So we’re going to say that you know, ‘Maybe he’s got Muslim connections or we’re going to say that, you know, he hangs out with radicals or he’s not patriotic.’”

U.S. Code says the proper method for disposing of an American flag is actually burning, provided it is “no longer a fitting emblem for display.”

The United States Flag Store, which sells full-sized and miniature flags, says on its Web site that flags can also be put in the trash, when they are “worn, damaged or tattered beyond repair.”

Politcs As Usual

I haven't had the time to get into it as much as I'd like, but I LOVE POLITICS. Heather's as bad as me. One of the few things we like to do together is watch Fox News and discuss candidates. We record the Republican Convention and watch it back. I've known all I thought I needed to know about John McCain for awhile, but after the convention I've got a new found respect for the man. I knew about his military career and political career and was impressed, but didn't care for some of his policies. At first I was like "eh", better than Obama. Now I think he truly is the "right" choice. First off I am card carrying member of the Alabama Republican Party and vote straight Republican. You can't convince me to vote Liberal...I mean Democrat..forget about it.
McCain is a tough man. All he went through as a POW and never would denounce his country. That alone is worth a vote or two. But if you look at his career, and the choices he's made. He never backs down, or changes his tune. What you see is what you get. Unlike Obama...who changes to whomever he's talking too. Facts are facts people.
Sara Palin was a GREAT choice. A strong woman of conviction and family. Good choice. Smart choice. She nailed Obama in her speech. Praphrase here in regards to her not being qualified.."I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities"...NICE! Now the haters are coming out of the woodwork saying how can she raise children and be a VP. What happened to all the feminist on the Hillary Clinton bandwagon?! Ridiculous.
The other great speech of the night was Rudy Giuliani's. He was great. Laid it out plain and simple. Obama has no experience. I think he has approximately 143 days in office. Most of that time he didn't even vote. No experience as a leader at all. Not as a Mayor, Governor, Business, etc..nothing. Pretty much hasn't stuck with anything for long. What is a community organizer anyway?

Brokeback Deer Camp

Four guys were at deer camp. They had to bunk two to a room. No one
wanted to room with Daryl because he snored so badly. They decided it
wasn't
fair to make one of them stay with him the whole time, so they voted to
take turns. The first guy slept with Daryl and comes to breakfast the
next
morning with his hair a mess and his eyes all bloodshot. The other two
said, 'Man, what happened to you?' He said, 'Daryl snored so loudly, I
just sat up and watched him all night.'

The next night it was the second guy's turn. In the morning, same
thing--hair all standing up, eyes all bloodshot. The other two said,
'Man, what happened to you? You look awful!' He said, 'Man, that Daryl
shakes the roof. I sat up and watched him all night.'

The third night was Frank's turn. Frank was a big burly lumberjack; a
man's man. The next morning he came to breakfast bright eyed and bushy
tailed. 'Good morning,' he said. The other two couldn't believe it! He
looked rested and wide awake. They asked, 'Man, what happened?' He
said, "Well, we got ready for bed. I went and tucked Daryl into bed,
patted his butt and kissed him good night...Daryl sat up and watched me
all night."
